Here are the two steps that will help you find a great contractor

The best way to find a good contractor isn’t through google, HomeAdvisor, or social media. The trick to getting a good reference takes a little work, but it’s worth it. Let me walk you through the two steps to finding a reputable contractor to do work on your home:

  1. Ask your friends. Once you’ve received a couple of references with raving reviews, don’t stop there; call each one and ask them for three referrals. Every good contractor will have at least three referrals if they’ve been in business for any length of time. The contractor that you’re looking for will give you three referrals from their most recent customers and possibly even one they’re still actively working with.

  2. Contact the three referrals. Ask them how the contractor did. Were they timely? Did they pull the correct permits? Was the referral completely satisfied given what they paid for the work to be done? The referral who is still working with the contractor may be the most important one to ask because they’re going through it right now and can tell you exactly how they feel about the contractor.

“Ask for three of their most recent referrals.”

I always recommend these steps to those in search of someone to do work on their house, and I have never failed in passing a referral that way. If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call or send an email. We’d love to help you.
